Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has appointed Dr. Narendra Jadhav as Member, Planning Commission on July 27, 2009.

Dr. Narendra Jadhav previously working as the Vice Chancellor for University of Pune which is the largest traditional university in the world with around 6,50,000 students.

Dr. Narendra Jadhav
served the Reserve Bank of India for 31 years, and took voluntary retirement as the Chief Economist (Executive Director) of the RBI.

He also served as Economic Advisor to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as in Ethiopia and recently in Afghanistan.

Dr. Narendra Jadhav
has contributed 11 books and more than 100 research papers in national and international journals. Dr. Jadhav’s family biography titled “Untouchables” has been published in 15 languages including English, French, Spanish, Korean and Thai, and has sold around 4,00,000 copies.
